Below you will find some of the most popular questions we've been asked by prospective buyers:
Q: Some of the prices you are showing seem to be incredible value, so whats the "catch"?
A: There is no "catch", these prices are correct, purely because you are buying DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER and not the 'middleman'. Couple this with the very reasonable rates for online selling, and the competitive rates we negotiate with our carriers, we then pass these saving on to you.
Q: We notice that FREE DELIVERY only applies to mainland UK, Can you deliver to any of the offshore islands eg Guernsey.
A: We most certainly can, however due to the bulky nature of many of our garden timber products, there is a premium for haulage. If you live in an offshore island please contact us at any time for a quotation.
Q: Do you offer postal insurance for damages & loss?
A: Most certainly, and its all included in the price. All we ask is you check the goods on arrival and clearly mark the delivery note if there is any damage, and we will then make a claim on your behalf to the carrier.
Q: We notice your disclaimer regarding splitting warping etc, could you explain further?
A: As we all know, timber is a natural living product (not man made!) it is therefore subject to ageing (just like us!) and these are the natural processes that wood is subject to, its as simple as that. Modern day production techniques help in a small way to slow these processes down, but splitting cracking & warping (especially during weather extremes, eg very hot, very wet) will affect the timbers natural properties. When a garden structure begins to age however, we see it just like a good wine, they mature with age, and the ageing process makes the structure look more natural as time goes on.
Q: Are all your products treated against the effects of rot?
A: YES, every product in our range is treated with preservative & where applicable components are pressure impregnated with a powerful long lasting preservative, which in most cases protects the timber against the effects of rot (even when in the ground) for many years.
Q: Although the timber has been pressure treated, can we treat the timber ourselves with, for example "Cuprinol"?
A: Indeed yes. The colour that the "pressure treatment process" creates is best describes as a "very pale green tint", and this acts as a very good base for other timber preservatives or colours to be used.
Q: What is the best way to keep my product looking better for longer?
A: Contrary to common belief, the Sun can sometimes have a more harmful effect to timber than rain!! The ultra violet light emitted causes a bleaching effect to timber (turns it silvery grey). A good coating, say at least every two years with an oil based preservative/colour will help maintain your products good looks for longer.
We hope to have answered many of the questions you may have, however please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information you may require.
